Decluttering
Janine will help you make decisions about keeping or discarding the belongings that clutter your environment. She can work with you on your whole house or focus on individual rooms or projects. Dealing with a cluttered home can be overwhelming. Janine can help guide you in making decisions about what to keep and what to let go. She’ll keep you focused on the task at hand. Once the space is decluttered, she will help devise storage solutions so that the belongings you keep are easily accessible.
Paperwork
Janine will analyze your challenges with regard to the constant flow of paper that inevitably enters your life and design a system to streamline your paper handling. When that’s accomplished, you’ll be able to stay on top of the paper flow with minimal effort. Teetering piles of paper will be a thing of the past!
Janine recommends the Freedom Filer filing system to many of her clients. Janine has taken the requisite training and examinations to become a certified Freedom Filer consultant. As a self-employed businessperson for more than a dozen years, Janine understands the challenges of maintaining a comfortable and efficient home office. Whether you run a home-based business or simply use your office to handle household affairs, she’ll help you set up your office to maximize order and minimize distractions.
Estate organizing
If a loved one has died, Janine can help you go through his or her belongings and distribute them appropriately, bringing in a team of organizers if necessary. She recognizes that the process is an emotional one; she brings compassion and objectivity to the job. Team organizing
If you’re completely ovewhelmed by your clutter and are looking to dig out quickly, Janine can put together a team of top-notch organizers to work with you, under her supervision, to complete the job quickly. While this is not an inexpensive approach, if you’re able to make decisions quickly without feeling too overwhelmed, it can provide much faster results.
It’s important to note that excessive clutter is often a symptom of a problem, not the problem itself. If the root problem isn’t addressed (whether it’s a tendency to over-acquire objects or an inability to let go of things or a combination of both), a quick decluttering will be only a temporary solution.
As president of the St. Louis chapter of the National Association of Organizers, Janine is acquainted with most of the area’s professional organizers. She can put together a cheerful, nonjudgmental and skilled team of organizers who work well together. She’ll supervise them to minimize the stress on you.
Time management
If you can’t find enough hours in the day to accomplish what needs to be done, Janine will help you implement a system that allows you to meet your goals while balancing the various areas of your life. Different people think about time in different ways; Janine won’t try to shoehorn you into any one planning system. Together you’ll come up with a system that works for you.
