Reflections on holiday cards
As I posted in November, holiday cards are a big project for me. I do two sets: business and personal. Last year I only managed to get the business ones out. (And the sky didn’t fall.) Because of that, I’m bound and determined to do both this year. I’ll send out two hundred or so, in total.

Don't forget -- postage rates go up today
It’s come: The day for which I’ve been stockpiling Forever stamps. First-class postage goes up to 42 cents today. The rate for an additional ounce stays the same at 17 cents, so a two-ounce letter will cost 59 cents to mail. In addition, the rate for a postcard goes up by a penny, to 27 cent

A couple of shopping tips
A week ago, our 14-year-old Panasonic 32” TV bit the dust. It had been threatening to die for a few months, so the sadness of its death was tempered with the excitement over the prospect of buying a modern TV. I was anxious to get one that didn’t weigh 150 pounds and take up so much space.

Stock up on Forever stamps!
On May 12, the U.S. Postal Service will increase the price of a first-class stamp to 42 cents. In 2007, when they raised the rate from 39 to 41 cents, they introduced the “Forever stamp” which sells for 41 cents. This stamp, as its name implies, can be used even after a rate increase.
