“Janine's Insider’s Guide for New Organizers was such a helpful resource for me as I was starting my professional organizing business. Janine gave succinct & practical tips that helped shape the areas I wanted to prioritize first when building my business. Janine's guide gave me a true perspective of what it takes to build an organizing business. That has allowed me to have more realistic expectations and also reassured me that I was ready to take the next step to get started.”

— Mandy M. / Skeleton Key OrganizingThe Bundle includes five Insider’s Guides for New Organizers that each focus on a different element of being new to the field. You’ll find some overlap between the guides, as I figure it can’t hurt to read the important stuff more than once!

“I met Janine in 2009, back when I didn’t really know there even WAS an organizing industry. Through her guidance, I realized that I truly COULD create a successful business doing what I love and my business is thriving all these years later. I don’t think I would have been as successful as I am if I hadn’t met Janine. She genuinely wants to help everyone and she’s just phenomenal!”
— Terry C. / Organization in Bloom“I quit my corporate job in 2017 and was considering the organizing field, but wasn't sure it could really work out. I was thrilled to meet Janine through NAPO (she's a big deal in the St. Louis organizing scene — kind of the Fairy Godmother of organizing in St. Louis!) and her encouragement and guidance gave me the confidence to dive into my new career. She even suggested a niche for me that has worked perfectly! Nearly four years later, I'm running a successful business and feel like Janine helped me get there sooner.”
— Kerri S. / Edit + ArrangeThese guides won’t tell you the right way to run an organizing business — because there is no right way. What they will do is give you the confidence and clarity you need to understand that you CAN operate a successful, rewarding, and profitable organizing business.
That depends on what you consider to be ‘a living.’ There are numerous organizers out there making significant amounts of money and they don’t have a hit TV show. I built my own six-figure business from the ground up, have hired a variety of different employees and contractors, and successfully stayed in business for over 16 years. So yes, you can certainly make a living as an organizer.
There’s no sure-fire way to answer that question but I can tell you that if I can do it, YOU can do it! Running a successful organizing business requires some grit, a lot of determination, and many other factors that I explain in detail in the guides. I’ve been in the trenches. I’ve worked in hoarded homes and in million-dollar mansions. And these guides are a compilation of the things I learned over the years and wish were available to me when I was getting started back in 2005.
“Janine is SO good at helping new organizers. When I was starting out, I felt pretty unsure about many things. Janine mentored me and gave me the confidence to ask for a rate that I was worth. Her nonjudgmental suggestions were so helpful and she taught me so much about the field and working with clients. She truly has a gift for teaching you what you need to know about the business of organizing!”
