Buying and selling a car in this crazy car market

8 October 2021 | Comments [2] »

As you probably know, there is a shortage of cars in the U.S. thanks, apparently, to a shortage of computer chips. That means that you can sell your current car for more money than you might expect. But it also means that it’s hard to find a car to replace it at a reasonable price.

Worth repeating: My secret for making car buying easy

25 February 2021 | Comments [0] »

Back in 2017 I bought myself a new vehicle. (I’m still driving it!) For someone like me who is easily overwhelmed by choices, buying a car is never easy. But this time I feel I made it as easy as possible on myself and I wrote this post at the time to share how I did it. If you’re in the market for a car, I hope this will be helpful!

Worth repeating: Organizing your car

3 September 2020 | Comments [0] »

I wrote this post a few years ago and when I stumbled across it today, I decided to share it again. I have a different car now and can no longer use my knitted trash can, alas. But I got another hand-made trash receptacle for my car, which I love. If you, like me, are spending less time in your car these days, now might be a good time to organize it. A new wastebasket for my new car

26 June 2017 | Comments [2] »

I think having a wastebasket in your car is essential. If I didn’t, there would be empty protein bar wrappers and water bottles strewn all over the place, not to mention parking lot stubs and post-it notes. Last week, a client asked me to help him organize the console and glove compartment of his car. I think that’s the first time I’ve been asked to organize a car and it was fun! In no time at all, we had his car organized so that he can find what he needs easily.

Accessorizing my new car

10 October 2013 | Comments [3] »

I bought a 2008 Honda CR-V about a month ago. It replaces an older Honda Civic. I realized I need more room to carry around the supplies I use on my team jobs. (Incidentally, I bought it on Craiglist, and it was an excellent experience.)

One of the joys of being organized

27 September 2013 | Comments [0] »

I sold my car a couple of weeks ago. It was easy to do—the receptionist at my mechanic shop bought it. Even the paperwork wasn’t too bad, and I’ll tell you why: Because I’m organized.

App of the week: Milebug

1 June 2012 | Comments [1] »

I blogged about the mileage-tracking app Milebug last year, after I realized how much time it was saving me on my taxes. Back then, I was using it on my iPod Touch.

The uncluttered car

24 July 2008 | Comments [1] »

I have to admit that my car usually looks pretty messy. That’s not surprising, since I’m a messy person, in general. But I did clean it out prior to my big trip to IKEA and it was very nice to have the clutter removed. Unfortunately, it’s encroaching again.

Life can get in the way of productivity

8 May 2007 | Comments [0] »

Do you ever feel like you could really get some stuff done if only you didn’t have to deal with life? I got home from my organizers’ conferences all revved up with big plans of implementing big ideas.

So I paid almost $30 to have my car washed inside and out. I expected to enjoy having a nice clean car. I didn’t expect to have an epiphany.
